Knowledge Is of No Value Unless You Put It Into Practice

A dramatic ballad singer studied under a strict teacher who insisted that he rehearse day after day, month after month the same passage from the same song, without being permitted to go any further. Finally, overwhelmed by frustration and despair, the young man ran off to find another profession. One night, stopping at an inn, he stumbled upon a recitation contest. Having nothing to lose, he entered the competition and, of course, sang the one passage that he knew so well. When he had finished, the sponsor of the contest highly praised his performance. Despite the student’s embarrassed objections, the sponsor refused to believe that he had just heard a beginner perform. This student later became known as the great performer Koshiji.

No matter how tough or unlikely a task appears to be, steady, continuous, and rigorous practise can turn the seemingly impossible into a reality. The only sure-fire approach to master any skill or habit is to work hard at it. It is not only necessary to obtain knowledge, but it is also necessary to put it into practise, which takes time and work.

Name any sport and any veteran you can think of, including Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, Roger Federer, Don Bradman, Sachin Tendulkar, Pele, Messi, and Usain Bolt. Do you believe they attained perfection in an hour, a day, or a year? No, it took them years and years of accumulated effort, sweat, tears, and blood to arrive to this point. There is no alternative for devotion and hard effort.

It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about musicians, artists, players, world leaders, entrepreneurs, or scientists. To excel at it, everyone must put in years of practise with concentration, dedication, and perseverance.

Even the natural gold does not shine, it requires constant polishing.

“Knowing is not enough; we must apply.”

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

There are several professions and occupations for diverse human activities, such as becoming a doctor in all of his specialties, an engineer, a lawyer, a psychologist, or a social worker, to name a few.

In tests and exercises, as well as solutions to pure, abstract, and practical problems, even pure and theoretical mathematics includes a practical component.

Theoretical knowledge can be enticing and sophisticated, but for me, operational knowledge of theoretical knowledge is true knowledge.

Without any practice, you hopefully won’t become a master in your work. All the successful and productive men and women of this planet are experts in their work. They were working intensely. They were working day and night. They worked breathlessly until they were masters of their work.

Just a daily practice makes you good for your work. It is your work that will take you to your destiny. A man who keeps practicing in his job, he will never fail in his goal. Success is just going to look at him.

Hard work will always pay off sometime in the future.

The majority of people believe that knowledge is power and that one’s success is determined by how much they know. Although information is powerful, it can be rendered useless without action. Only when knowledge is correctly comprehended does it become powerful. You must apply what you learn in order to properly comprehend it.

A friend of mine was curious as to how I was able to create and maintain such strong new habits. He told me he had read the same things before and understood much of the information when I sent him articles, quotes, affirmations, and video training that benefited me. Though he possessed the knowledge of how to create and form new habits, it was my understanding of the concept and application of it to my life that made all the difference.

You can always take your abilities one step further, one inch closer to perfection. We should never be satisfied with a good or even a great performance. Let’s be patient and strive for ultimate perfection, no matter what the cost.

I can relate to this. I make brownies. I would’ve tried to perfect my double chocolate brownie recipe numerous times, till it became failproof. Now I can simply follow that recipe anytime, anywhere and it comes out 100% yummy. I can tweak and create variations of this too.

Likewise, I am practicing content writing so much that I want to make it part of me. To really master something, it has to become part of you. I am on my way to create my mark on this new field.

People sometimes spread themselves too thin by trying to do too many things at once. You have to master one thing at a time. That builds a solid foundation that you can then build on.

This is what I’ve to tell you, my dear friends, as a digital entrepreneur, I see a lot of people quitting halfway. Everything is possible if you eat in small bites. A certain degree of self-discipline is needed to keep you pushing to take action every single day till you reach your goal.

Take rest if you must, but never quit!

Remember that you don’t have to know everything in order to take action, but you must act every time you learn anything new. Winners take flawed action, while losers continue to refine their strategy. If you don’t use your knowledge, it will swiftly fade away.

Accept the fact that you don’t have to know everything all of the time. Even if you don’t have it in your head, knowledge is power. You won’t have to reinvent the wheel if you build on the work of others. You can also intelligently direct people with the information you require to help you reach your goals. When you gain knowledge or learn something new, remember that knowledge is only useful if you put it to use.
